How to Prepare Your Camper for the Season

As we prepare for the season RVSnag has prepared a quick list that can help get to your favorite nature spot avoiding the headaches by being proactive and prepared to be away from home. The list contains the Safety Check, the de-winterization and general cleaning that should be done to your camper prior to your journey. We have also included some of our to go items incase you find yourself in need. If we are missing anything you feel we are missing please feel free to let us know so we can be more complete.
- Safety checks:
- tire tread [tire tread checker]
- correct tire pressure
- refrigerator/ stove and a/c and heater correctly work
- greasing the axels [ grease gun][grease tube]
- checking for missing components ( e.g.. grease caps, hair pins, cotter, channel rail cover)
- battery check [multi-meter][batter trickler][quick emergency battery pack charger] [solar products]
- spare tire [tire cover]
- check your chocks from crack and chips
- inspect the roof[dicor pdtcs]
de-winterization: - water tank anode [water tank anode pdtc]
- water system flush [water hose]
- propane tank check ( small and large)
- check for rodents/ pests [ rodent traps]
- leak check seals and caulk [caulking gun, caulk tube]
- wash the trailer exterior [ washer liquid][variable speed power washer/ spray nozzle]
- general cleaning:
- wash bedding,
- kitchen ware
- awning [simple green]
- black and grey tank flush and deodorization [deodorizer]
